Gingivitis is the first sign of ailment of our gums.
The main cause of this acute disease (because this is what it is) is the bacterial plaque, in fact the bacteria that make up the dental plaque tend to lead to a bacterial infection that affects the gums, which consequently will start to be swollen, sensitive, bleeding sometimes regress and pain is felt when chewing, talking or drinking.
Other causes related to gingivitis are: first of all poor oral hygiene, which determines the non-elimination of bacterial plaque and food residues. We also see smoking, prolonged use of certain drugs, systemic conditions such as diabetes, pregnancy, unhealthy oral situations such as damaged fillings and then genetic predisposition is not lacking.
